Lyricist/writer Kathryn Stone has been described as “the best kept secret in Hollywood. Having written for some of the finest performers and producers in the entertainment industry, Kathryn is well respected for her diverse talents as a writer/lyricist.
Kathy has written for many high profile corporations including Chrysler, IBM, Paine Webber General Electric, United Way, Merrill Lynch, Toyota, Revlon, Trump Inc., Kentucky Derby, Buick, and Better Homes just to name a few.
Currently Ann Margret opens her show with Kathryn’s special salute to “Bye Bye Birdie” and Don Rickles closes his stage show with a heartfelt musical thanks written by Kathryn. She regularly pens production numbers for Holland America Cruises and was honored when producer, Gary Smith, asked her to write a special rendition of “Thanks For the Memories” for the Academy of Radio and Television’s Memorial Tribute to Bob Hope.
Since the inception of American Idol, Kathryn has written the show’s closing number; a funny retrospective of the season’s most memorable contestants. She has penned many television shows and specials, among them: NBC’s Symphony of Sports, Celebration of America’s Cup, Disney’s 50th Anniversary of the Queen Mary, and the Emmy winning childrens’ show, ABC’s Kids are People Too.
